As a Naija person, there are some healthy foods that I just can’t eat.
I’m sorry.
I cannot be convinced.
I want to be healthy but I also want to enjoy the foods that I’m eating. That’s why I’ve started cataloging any healthy foods that play nice with my Nigerian pallet and preferences.
So without further ado, here are some healthy foods that you can find me eating today.
Breakfast
Whole grain, whole wheat, bread with homemade avocado spread.
This “spread” is actually Naija Chef Avocado Salad Dressing but I love it so much, I basically eat it like stew now.
Of course, I have to have a nice cup of tea to go with this. Today, I chose loose leaf Organic Red Raspberry tea.
Lunch
Quinoa and salmon stew with healthy dodo.
See what I did there? I’d normally have rice but quinoa has more protein and fiber so it won today.
Dinner
Homemade chicken salad wrap
This is the part where I try to incorporate some vegetables into my day. I figure if I can eat quick and go to bed, I won’t have time to convince myself that I should have amala for dessert.
My wraps also never close because I pack in so many different veggies. The whole thing ends up being a delightfully messy feast that makes my husband want to give me a bib.
This is a typical day for me. What did you have for lunch today? Leave me a comment and let me know! Also, if you enjoyed this post, share it with a friend so I know to do more posts just like this one.
