I’ve been looking for a Nigerian fruit salad recipe for a while.
Since I couldn’t find just the right one, I decided to make my own.
The beauty of Nigerian fruit salad (or any fruit salad) is that there are no rules.
If you like a fruit, you can add it to your salad.
Therefore, this Nigerian fruit salad recipe is nothing but a list of my very favorite fruits.
For this particular salad, I had to double check that all of the ingredients can be found in Nigeria.
….because it is a Nigerian fruit salad recipe afterall.
but don’t let that deter you from throwing in some foreign fruits as well!
Quick Notes
Some people have an idea that I think could be a bit dangerous.
That is, they think that fruit is healthy; therefore it is okay to eat it in unlimited quantities.
My friends, this is simply not true.
Please refer to this article on the principles of weight loss/ weight management.
Even if weight is not a concern, there are many other reasons to eat fruit in moderation.
Namely that fruits tend to be high in sugar.
The sugar in fruit isn’t terrible because it is typically tempered by the presence of fiber in the fruit.
However, it is still sugar and should be consumed in moderation.
Just thought to mention that because you’re my friends and I want you to be healthy! <3
So, my fruities, here you go.
My personal fave Nigerian fruit salad recipe.
