Choose brands that are low in sugar and at least 70% dark.

2. Groundnuts and Other Nuts
Nuts are another healthy snack idea!
When choosing nuts, pick fresh, unsalted nuts.
My personal favorite is unsalted, raw cashews. However, almonds are also a great choice.
And so are pistachios and our beloved groundnuts!
3. Greek Yoghurt
Greek yoghurt is extremely satisfying.
It is also quite tasty especially when spiked with a hint of honey or fruit.
Greek yoghurt is a great source of protein, calcium, and potassium as well.
So when the 3pm itis hits, reach for some greek yoghurt and snack away – guilt free!
4. Kilishi or Suya
I’ll bet you didn’t see this one coming.
They are a great source of protein, very satisfying and minimally processed if you make them yourself at home.
It also has the added benefit of being rather delicious – compared to many other healthy snack options.
5. Oat and Banana Muffins
This has become a staple breakfast option in these meal plans.
However, it is also a delicious snack!
It is sugar free, easy to make and very portable.
The sweetness comes from bananas and dates (which are high in potassium and fiber – respectively).
And of course, this snack sports all the heart healthy benefits of oats as well – win win win.
6. Cliff Bars – Crunchy White Macadamia Nut
If you really want a fast snack that requires no prep on your part, try out cliff bars.
I discovered them many years ago and still love them.
I also love the story of the founder, who took many big risks in order to see his dream come true.
Of all the snack bars I’ve tried, cliff bars are some of the cleanest in their ingredients!

7. Cliff Bars – Soft Chocolate Brownies
Another cliff bar recommendation is the chocolate brownie variety.
I have to warn you though – it looks really weird in the pack.
Yet, somehow, these taste absolutely delicious.

You can even try your hands on making some fruit salad if you’re feeling extra creative.
9. Trail Mix!
There are so many different types of trail mix, it’s hard to make a specific recommendation.
As always, just be sure to check the label to make sure that there’s very little added sugar.
Also, avoid trail mix brands that add oil to the pack.
The more raw the trail mix, the more likely it is to be better for your health.
Smoothies are one of the absolute best healthy snack ideas because you can get very creative.
You can make a spinach smoothie to sneak in some veggies.
You can make a mango smoothie if that’s more your jam.
